Dr. Netanyahu is a practicing Israeli physician, radiologist, author, and playwright. The unfounded claim initially gathered traction following commentary by commentator Scott Ritter on the Russian state-controlled outlet RT, after which it was rapidly promoted by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps-affiliated Tasnim News Agency and circulated through regional digital channels. ## Misattributed Visual Evidence To fabricate visual evidence of the supposed strike and casualty, social media channels distributed dramatic video footage of a multi-story home engulfed in flames, claiming the clip showed the immediate destruction of the Netanyahu family residence in central Israel. Forensic media verification conducted by independent fact-checking organizations, including [Dismislab](https://en.dismislab.com/iddo-netanyahu-death-video/), revealed that the footage had no connection to Israel, military engagements, or the Netanyahu family. Reverse image searches and archival records confirmed that the video documented an accidental residential fire that occurred months earlier in the state of New Jersey in the United States, repurposed with fabricated captions to simulate military impact. ## Absence of Physical Impact or Casualties Emergency medical services, local authorities, and national civil defense monitoring in Israel registered no missile impacts corresponding to the residence, nor were any injuries or fatalities reported concerning Dr. Netanyahu. Comprehensive coverage by [The Jewish Chronicle](https://www.thejc.com/news/israel/ben-gvir-iddo-netanyahu-death-hoax-jltqxz2u) documented that the rumor surrounding Dr. Iddo Netanyahu emerged as part of a wider wave of coordinated hoaxes that simultaneously alleged the deaths or incapacitation of other prominent Israeli figures, including National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir and Mossad Director David Barnea. Fact-checking evaluations by [Snopes](https://www.snopes.com/news/2026/03/12/benjamin-netanyahu-dead-rumor/) similarly established that Dr. Netanyahu was entirely uninjured and that the claim was baseless. ## Strategic Disinformation and Psychological Warfare The dissemination of fabricated casualty reports involving high-profile figures reflects an established component of Iranian state-sponsored information operations. By circulating false claims regarding the destruction of homes and the deaths of leaders' family members, propagandists seek to project an exaggerated impression of missile precision and operational reach. These narratives are designed to distract from defensive interceptions, generate psychological distress, and offer artificial successes to domestic and allied audiences. In reality, Dr. Iddo Netanyahu remained completely unharmed, no strike occurred at his home, and the accompanying visual evidence was entirely fraudulent. ## 출처 - [thejc.com](https://www.thejc.com/news/israel/ben-gvir-iddo-netanyahu-death-hoax-jltqxz2u) - [snopes.com](https://www.snopes.com/news/2026/03/12/benjamin-netanyahu-dead-rumor/) - [en.dismislab.com](https://en.dismislab.com/iddo-netanyahu-death-video/) - [snopes.com](https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/netanyahu-alive-coffee-video/)
